Los operativos fueron llevados a cabo por la Dirección General Antidrogas del Paraná en Superintendencia de Drogas Peligrosas de la Policía Federal y ordenado por el juez bonaerense de Campana, Adrián González Charvay. El procedimiento consiste en una serie de investigaciones por una posible que conecta el traslado de droga desde Rosario a Europa.

Según los voceros, el cargamento que rondaba los 1.500 kilos ya estaba listo para ser exportado desde el noroeste de la ciudad de Rosario. La droga permanecía en bolsos cerealeros.

Los allanamientos tuvieron lugar en Rosario, Santiago del Estero, Villa María, Victoria, Bahía Blanca y Capital Federal, en un trabajo coordinado de la policía con la DEA, la Drug Enforcement Agency estadounidense. El apoyo también estuvo presente desde divisiones especiales de la AFIP y Aduana.

Se estima que es uno de los operativos más importantes en el último tiempo para la Policía Federal, en el contexto de una investigación que duró más de seis meses.

También se secuestraron autos de alta gama, armas automáticas y dos utilitarios con doble fondo, preparados especialmente para el traslado de la cocaína.
